After listening to an explanation of the Holy Spirit's irresistible grace, John asked, "Is a person forced to be converted? Does a child of God serve Him against his will?"
"I appreciate your question," his teacher responded. "When we emphasize the Spirit's irresistible work, we could form a distorted picture in this regard. The Holy Spirit actually wins over the person's will. The person is made willing. The Holy Spirit implants new spiritual life, and this new heart or nature in the person loves to worship and serve God.
