happiness and contentment can only be found when God is the center of our lives and we live for His honor and glory rather than our own. What is the deepest desire, motivation, and purpose in your life?

David wrote the following truth concerning God's creation in Psalm 19:

Psalm 19:1-4a

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth His handiwork.

Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.



God created the entire universe and everything within it in six days. The following chart shows how the pattern of the first three days is repeated in the second three:

  • Contentment - The condition of being satisfied with that which one has; not needing or craving for more



    • Can you list several ways in which creation reveals God's "handiwork"? How can God's "hand" be seen and His "voice" be heard day and night in His creation?



    For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

    The following chart reveals seven characteristics of God's decree that are revealed in Scripture:

    FIRST DAY

    God created Light.

    FOURTH DAY

    God created the sun, moon, and stars to be the light bearers.

    SECOND DAY

    God created the firmament, separating the waters above from the waters below.

    FIFTH DAY

    God created the birds which fly in thefirma ment and the animals which live in the waters.

    THIRD DAY

    God formed the dry land and created the trees and plants.

    SIXTH DAY

    God created the animals and man which live on land and feed upon trees and plants.

    SEVENTH DAY - GOD RESTED: HIS CREATION WORK WAS COMPLETE It was perfect; without any sin
