  • God's providence - God's caring for, upholding of, and governing over all things
    • What other examples can you name where God's power can be seen in the daily operation and upholding of creation? Can you name any examples where God's power cannot be seen? Why not?

"I don't see God," stated an atheist to an elderly man. "Give me a proof that God exists."

The older man paused and replied, "Every day for seventy years I have seen the sun rise and set on time. Every night I see the North Star in its place. The moon, planets, and stars have kept their exact schedules and paths in the sky. Show me a human clock that has run perfectly for thousands of years if you want proof! I observe God in everything around me. I'm amazed that you cannot see Him. "

How does God's providence testify of His existence and care?

God's general revelation speaks to all people; both creation and conscience testify to everyone that there is a God. But general revelation does not reveal who God is nor how we may be saved. General revelation is not sufficient for salvation.
