Questions from Rev. A. Hellenbroek's Divine Truths - Chapter XXl

1. Will there be a resurrection of all men?
Yes. "Of both the just and the unjust" (Acts 14:15).

2. When will this resurrection take place?
At the last day.

3. Who will raise the dead?
God Himself.

4. Will the wicked be raised also?
Yes. "The hour is coming in which all that are in the graves shall hear His voice, and shall come forth, they that have done good unto the resurrection of life, and they that have done even unto the resurrection of damnation" (John 5:18-19).

5. With what types of bodies will the dead arise?
With their same bodies; otherwise it would not be a resurrection, but a new creation. "I know that my Redeemer liveth, and that He shall stand at the latter day upon the earth, and though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God, whom I shall see for myself, and mine eye shall behold and not another" (Job 19:15-17).

6. Is it possible to raise all the dead?
Yes. With God all things are possible; indeed, it would seem even more impossible to create the whole world out of nothing.

7. Will the resurrected bodies be changed?
Not in essence, but they will be changed in their qualities.

8. In what qualities will they be changed?
"This corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality" (1 Cor. 15:33).

9. What will follow the resurrection of the dead?
The final judgment.

10. Will there definitely be a final judgment?
Yes. "He hath appointed a day, in the which He will judge the world in righteousness by the man whom He hath ordained" (Acts 17:31).

II. Who will be the Judge of all mankind?
Christ the Savior who will visibly appear in His human nature.

12. Where will the judgment be held?
In the clouds of heaven. "Nevertheless I say unto you, Hereafter shall ye see the Son of man sitting on the right hand of power, and coming in the clouds of heaven" (Mt. 16:64).

13. When will the last judgment take place?
No man knows the day or the hour (Mark 13:51).

14. Who will be judged?
Every person. "We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ: that everyone may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad" (II Cor. 5:10).

15. How will all mankind be divided?
Into two classes, the wicked and the righteous.

16. Where will Christ place these two groups?
He will place the wicked on His left hand; the righteous on His right hand.

17. What sentence will He pronounce on the wicked?
"Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels" (Mt. 15:41).

18. What will He proclaim to the righteous?
"Come, ye blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world" (Mt. 15:34).

19. What will follow the final judgment?
Either eternal life or eternal damnation.

20. Where will eternal damnation be?
In hell. "And the rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell he 1I/t up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom" (Luke 16:11-13).

21. How long will this torment continue?
Forever. "And these shall go away into everlasting punishment" (Mt. 15:46).

22. Will this damnation be temporary or end in a total annihilation of man?
No, it will be a punishment both without end and continually felt. "Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched" (Mark 9:44).

23. Where will eternal life be enjoyed?
In heaven. "Your reward is great in heaven" (Luke 6:13).

24. How long will this life continue?
Also forever. "The righteous go into everlasting 1I/e" (Mt. 25:46)

25. Of what will this eternal life consist?
It will be a life of being with God forever and ever, enjoying His presence with perfect joy. "Thou will show me the path of life: In Thy presence is fulness of joy, at Thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore" (Ps. 16:11).
