Our personal conditions and situations can produce very different reactions to God's attributes. The following story can help to illustrate this truth: ![]() A store is being robbed by four thieves. The owner of the store, held by two men, watches helplessly as several expensive items are being thrown into sacks by the other two burglars. Suddenly, several policemen race into the store through both doorways. The storeowner and the thieves see the same policemen. Yet, the sight of the policemen causes opposite reactions - joy to the storeowner, and terror to the thieves. Why? God is one - He is one perfect, glorious Being. Yet, His appearance will cause opposite reactions in various people. Why will God's presence be the cause of the greatest joy to some, and of the greatest terror to others? Will God's appearance produce great joy or fear within you? |
